The recruitment market in Ireland is booming thanks to Brexit and UK companies choosing to establish their European bases in Dublin.
According to the Robert Walters 2019 European Salary Survey, this has had a positive impact on the demand for a number of skill sets within financial services: risk, finance, legal, compliance and IT.
‘Ireland has become the choice location for UK-based companies to have a base in a European country, resulting in numerous vacancies for specialist professionals across a variety of sectors. High levels of candidate confidence, coupled with a variety of job opportunities, has seen companies competing to attract and retain top talent. This has ultimately put candidates in a strong position and 2019 will see salaries increase as competition for securing top professionals intensifies’, writes Louise Campbell.*
Ireland is particularly attractive to workers on ICT 2 Tier visas who face the challenge of the 12-month cool-off period if they wish to switch to Tier 2 General visa. They can explore options to work in Europe and notably Ireland for 1 year and then, if they wish, apply to companies in the UK and seek Tier 2 General Visa Sponsorship having served a 12-month cooling period.
