f you are a current Tier 2 General Visa holder and you are looking to change your employment position and employer, there are options available for you.

If you want to change your employer while on a Tier 2 Visa, you must ensure that your new employer is on the UK Sponsor Licence Register and is, therefore, able to legally hire migrant workers. It is also worth noting that any new job you apply for will most likely be subject to the Resident Labour Market Test. This means it will be advertised for a total of 28 days before it can be offered to Tier 2 Visa holders. Because of this, it is probably wise to plan your move while you are still with your current employer. (The only scenario whereby the Resident Labour Market Test doesn't need to be conducted is if the role is on the shortage occupation list BELOW!!)

A Tier 2 General Visa holder in the UK has their right to stay in the UK on working in the job they were hired for. The Tier 2 Visa is applicable for residents outside the European Economic Area. It is very popular in both the IT and the engineering sector.
Experts have estimated that millennials will have fifteen jobs and above in their lifetime and fast-moving industries such as the tech industry will mobilise companies even more. If you are in the UK on a Tier 2 Visa and you either feel like your time has come to an end or you are being forced to move on, then you will need to reassess your residency terms.
