These statistics taken from Universities UK clearly portray a strong and sustained influx in international students and thus great talent pool within the UK. Not only does it strengthen the UK and universities economically but also enriches culture.

For many after investing and studying in the UK the end goal is to find employment and start a career here. Despite bags of enthusiasm, qualifications and generally previous work experience, this can prove difficult.  Contacting the careers office & attending career workshops and eventsis a good start.

Many of the large consultancies and companies have graduate schemes and set aside sponsorship for skilled graduates however competition is rife.

The benefit of being on a student visa is that for a company to employ and sponsor they are not required to complete the Resident Labour Market Test. This is ideal both administration wise as well as time wise. In addition if outside of studies students are able to work full-time to allow them to showcase their skills (otherwise part time 20 hours per week whilst studying).

For those with vast IT experience prior to their studies do contact us directly @ consult@mavisas.co.uk for the chance to work on exciting IT projects and grow an exciting career.

In summary options are available post studying and planning early and networking is the absolute key. Thanks for reading
